Take this fun adventure into the world of fiber arts.

*Wool becomes felted by using your hands and arms to gently roll and knead the fibers into a shape. You will be moving your body in order to make felt. Also, we will be using water and soap. I use Olive Oil soap, a gently soap. Some people have allergies to soap and/or wool fibers. Please be aware both of these thing are used in this workshop and cannot be substituted.

To book a private workshop, please let us know on the contact page. We will work something out.

5 Day Workshop: Creature design in wet felting.

Beginning with just the simple fragile fiber, we will explore techniques used to combine the fibers to make a strong and almost indestructible creature.  Explorations include felting with a resist* or hollow form felting, cord, pre-felt and ball making. We will construct a variety of felted parts to be used in building the body and head of your creature. We examine how thick and thin layers of wool felt differently and how these differences can be used in your work. We will also add embellishments to create visual interest, joints, eyes, hair, bones, fingers or other creature like marks.
